Make up is a part of every girl’s life. This is particularly so in case of Middle East where beauty and make up is given utmost importance. You can hardly come across a girl in the Middle East who is devoid of any makeup. Such is the importance given to make up that there are a lot of shops in this region (both online and offline) that sells a variety of international makeup products.
If you are an amateur in the art of makeup, then you should know certain makeup tips and tricks which can highlight your features and provide added beauty to your face.
Concealer: Your makeup session should always start with a concealer. Apply the concealer in a conical shape and extend it to where your nose ends. This not only helps in concealing the dark circle under your eyes but also provides full coverage to your face.
Foundation: In the hot and humid climate of the Middle East, it is quite natural for the foundation to wear off fast. For a more long lasting foundation, rub an ice cube on the face for few minutes and then apply the foundation. The cold ice closes all the facial pores and makes the foundation stay longer.
Compact powder: There are two types of compact powders – Loose powder and pressed powder. Loose powder is used to set the makeup in place whereas the pressed powder is best suited for touch ups. For best result, always use the fluffiest brush to apply the powder.
Blush: Blush is usually applied after the foundation. But to get a more natural effect, it is best to apply the blush first and then top it up with a foundation. If you have oily skin, then powder blush would be the ideal choice. For those with dry skin, cream or gel blush can be used.
Eyeliner/Kohl pencil: Apply the kohl pencil inside the eye in the lower eyelid and the eyeliner near the lashes in the upper eye lid. But if you have oily skin, then the Kohl will smudge very fast in the humid weather. In that case, apply the kohl pencil first and then top it up with eyeliner. This will lock the Kohl and provide a more dramatic look to the eyes.
Eyeshadow: The advantage of using an eyeshadow is that it can be used as a blusher, highlighter as well as a bronzer. If your eyeshadow looks pale, you can highlight the same by applying a white eyeliner in the upper eyelid. You can even provide a gradient effect to your eyes with specially designed triple shadow.
Mascara: To provide a dramatic look to your mascara, apply one coat of mascara initially and top it up with baby powder. Then apply one more coat of mascara. Repeat this till you get the desired thickness.
Lipstick: Lipstick should always be applied from the middle of the lip moving outwards. To make your lipstick stay longer, apply a translucent powder on your lips after applying the lipstick. For a more dramatic effect, apply a shimmery eyeshadow above the lipstick.
Applying makeup is an art. Your creativity and imagination are all that is required to convert this art into a thing of beauty.
